Title: Volunteer & Training Coordinator Company: CASA of Shawnee County, Inc. Supervisor : Executive Director Classification : Non-Exempt, Full-Time (Up to 40 hours/week) Pay Range: $19.23-$26.44/hr, as based on experience Location : In-office, Topeka KS Job Summary The Volunteer & Training Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, supporting, and retaining CASA volunteers while coordinating all aspects of volunteer training and continuing education. This position serves as an ambassador for CASA of Shawnee County by building relationships within the community, conducting presentations, and helping identify qualified volunteer candidates. The Coordinator manages volunteer recruitment activities, training logistics, volunteer records, and ongoing communication to ensure volunteers receive the support and education needed to successfully advocate for children.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Volunteer Recruitment & Community Outreach Recruit and screen qualified volunteer candidates through community outreach, presentations, networking events, and relationship-building with local organizations. Respond to volunteer inquiries, coordinate interviews, and maintain recruitment records and statistics. Represent CASA at community events and collaborate with leadership on volunteer recruitment goals and strategies. Coordinate all aspects of volunteer pre-service and continuing education training, including scheduling, logistics, communications, materials, presenters, and event setup. Track training attendance and continuing education hours and gather feedback to improve training opportunities. Maintain ongoing communication with volunteers and support volunteer engagement, recognition, appreciation, and retention efforts. Maintain accurate volunteer records and databases and ensure compliance with CASA, OJA, and NCASAA standards. Generate reports related to recruitment, retention, training, and volunteer participation. Maintain confidentiality of agency information, participate in staff meetings and agency activities, represent CASA professionally, and perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or relevant experience preferred but not required. Experience coordinating training programs, meetings, workshops, or events. Experience in nonprofit, community service, education, social service, or customer service environments. Knowledge of child welfare, foster care, or court systems is helpful but not required. Experience facilitating training or presenting to groups is a strong plus. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Professional communication and presentation skills. Comfortable speaking to groups and conducting community presentations. Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Zoom. Ability to maintain accurate records and perform detailed data entry. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member. Ability to successfully pass required background screenings. Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with CASA standards. Availability for some evening and occasional weekend activities. Commitment to serving diverse populations with respect and professionalism. Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current automobile insurance required.
